We’re getting strange start to the new year, what with the rush to hang Saddam, a national day of mourning for Ex-Prez Ford, and bombs exploding in Bangkok. Does this bode ill for 2007?

This year’s model
Posted by devra on December 17, 2006
Every December, along with the tree decorating & whatnot, I refresh our Door Wreath. Last year it was heavy on pine boughs, rosemary sprigs, and raffia.
This year, I went with ribbon:
I think it turned out rather nice.

You know what I love?
Posted by devra on December 12, 2006
Finding gifts for my husband. He’s both very easy to shop for and very difficult. Easy because I know what he likes, and he’s easy to please. Difficult because he manages to expend a lot of effort on finding unusual and unexpected gifts for me, but I have very little success in that for him. Oh, I’ve managed it once or twice – like the antique silver cigarette case from Brighton, or the vintage leather front cardigan a few years ago, but overall, I just can’t keep up. So it’s nice when I find something both unusual and *perfect*. If you knew him, you’d know just how perfect.
Luckily he doesn’t read my blog. Whew.

Well, obviously I figured out the blogroll. First you put a thingie in the whatsis, then you post in that category. Voila! Also, you can import blogrolls from Typepad, which is sweet.

New Blog for a New Year
Posted by devra on December 10, 2006
So it’s not quite the New Year yet, but it’s close enough.
At my old blog (archive here), I lost my oomph. And it got stale. Finally, NaBloPoMo forced me to realize I was BORED and borING. And that I wanted to move on. BUT, I’m not totally ready to quit yet – so I’ve archived the old blog, and I’m starting (semi-)fresh here.
WordPress Pro: easy peasy import
WordPress Con: how the hell do I build a blogroll?
